The grounds at the U Inchantree are beautiful, and the view from the restaurant terrace is stunning. In the evening while enjoying dinner, you can watch the sunset over the River Kwai bridge and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

The hotel has 24 guestrooms, plus two suites and the rooms are immaculate. There also free bicycle hire if you wish to explore the many Kanchanaburi attractions nearby or you can just chill out around the swimming pool.

The international breakfast is delicious, and the staff in the restaurant are polite and helpful.

Best for – This is the best Kanchanaburi accommodation for couples who are looking for somewhere quiet to stay.

Be aware of– The standard rooms are quite small.

There’s a large swimming pool, and the in house restaurant serves American cuisine. The rooms are large and immaculate and you can opt for a river view or pool view.  Wifi is freely accessible throughout the resort, and family rooms are available.

There’s a children’s playground and a games room to keep them occupied while the adults can relax on the terrace. Inflatables are allowed in the pool, and there’s plenty of sun lounges to sunbathe on.

The pool is open till late, and there’s often entertainment in the evening. Each room at the float house Kanchanaburi has a veranda where you can sit and relax. If the heat of the sun gets too much, jumping in the river is an excellent way to cool off, and life jackets are available in the rooms if your not a strong swimmer.

There’s free wifi in all the rooms, and most have an LCD television. All rooms have air conditioning, and the amenities are as you would expect from a top resort.

All the floating villas are made from teak wood and bamboo with luxurious furnishings as you would expect from floating bungalows in Thailand.

The onsite restaurant offers a la carte dining, or you can choose from the buffet. The food is satisfactory although it won’t be the best you’ve had in Thailand.

This is the best resort if you’re travelling with children and want to stay in a floating hotel. Kanchanaburi golf course is nearby, and there’s a good choice of activities to suit all.

The floating accommodation comprises of rustic bamboo rooms equipped with all the mod cons. Wifi is available in all the rooms, and the showers have hot water. (This is important to note as many floating hotels in Thailand don’t).

The location near Sai Yok National Park makes it convenient to visit nearby attractions such as Erawan Falls. It’s also easy to arrange day trips for any of the things to do in Kanchanaburi at reception.

Skooters can be hired for 400 Baht per day if you fancy exploring the area independently.

This is an excellent choice of hotel if you’re arriving on the Bangkok to Kanchanaburi train as they’ll arrange a free pick up from Nam Tok. Nam Tok is the station at the end of the Death railway train journey.

The recreational facilities are excellent at this riverside Kanchanaburi guest house. There are boats and canoes that you can hire for free, and you can take a swim by jumping off your own terrace.

If your travelling with children there’s a playground to keep them occupied and fishing is also a favourite activity on the river. The garden and grounds are beautiful, and there are BBQ facilities to hire if you choose.  There’s also an onsite restaurant which is reasonably priced, and they’re happy to cater for vegetarians. You can also enjoy an evening meal on your balcony.

The owner will give you all the help and advice you need to catch the bus from Kanchanaburi station and if you’re lucky they’ll give you a free ride up to Erawan falls.

All rooms are scrupulously clean and equipped with an LCD television. Although not as luxurious as some Kanchanaburi hotels on the river kwai the  Hill Side resort offers excellent value for money.

Best for – Families who want easy access to waterside activities

The Best Hotels In Kanchanaburi near Hellfire Pass

This is not your average campsite, oh no tents here are of the luxurious sort, and they offer more of a glamping experience. The camp provides the closest Kanchanaburi accommodation to Hellfire pass, and the Mon tribal village is also nearby.  Its 2 and a half kilometres from Nam Tok station if you’re arriving by train from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi.

The tents are well equipped, with air-conditioning and private bathroom facilities. The onsite restaurant serves delicious food, and they’re happy to cater for vegetarian and vegan diets. There’s a lovely atmosphere in the evening when the BBQ’s are lit, and the bar opens for cocktails and beverages.

If you want to explore the surrounding area including the death railway trails, bikes are available free, or you can opt for one of the many available tours. The natural pool provides a fabulous way to cool off after a full day sightseeing.

Best for – Outdoor enthusiasts who want a touch of luxury

This Boutique hotel would not look out of place in Morocco with its beautiful mosaic floors and unique architecture. Its only downfall is its location. The Bridge over the River Kwai is approximately 6 miles away. However, the hotel does offer free bikes to hire.

Cycling and walking tours are key attractions so if your an outdoor enthusiast this place will be of interest. Kanchanaburi golf course is also nearby.

All rooms have a flat-screen television, toaster and a coffee machine.  There’s also a seating area, and some rooms do have a balcony. You can enjoy an American style breakfast in the morning, and there is an onsite cafe and restaurant which can cater for dietary requests if given in advance.

The staff are attentive and will assist you with booking tours to see Kanchanaburi’s attractions.

Best for– Unique boutique resort in Kanchanaburi
